Exploring Denpasar, Capital City of Bali

Denpasar usually will be the very first place which people will go when they decide to travel to Bali. Denpasar is the capital city of Bali after all. People can just use Denpasar as transit area before they do to the specific area around Bali Island. However, it will be such as waste if people just transit in Denpasar without exploring this place. It is a bustling as well as energetic city with so many modern attractions which can be found. People maybe will think that they are too familiar with modern environment in their daily life but they should not skip several attractions which can be found in this amazing city.

The great thing which people can find in Denpasar is that it is the city where people can find various kinds of food. People can choose various food offers at Teuku Umar Street. They will be able to find various kinds of food from simple store to restaurant. People can also go to the Badung River which is the downtown center in Denpasar. People should also look art gallery at Taman Budaya Cultural Center. People can also visit one of the most historical places in Bali called Puputan Square. It becomes the place for tragic battle in 1906 but nowadays it comes in open space with large and shady trees. At the opposite way of Puputan Square, people can find Bali Museum with has traditional looking. With affordable price, people can enjoy relaxing environment and at the same time people can learn about Balinese history in details.


Balinese temple becomes great attraction which can be found easily in Bali and of course people can find the Balinese temple in Denpasar as well. Pura Agung Jagatnatha which is not far from Bali Museum is the temple which people should visit when they are in Denpasar. People can find memorable experience if they visit this place during new moon and full moon days when there is celebration. Pasar Burung can be found when people go to the north of Puputan Square. It is kind of open air market which has smaller scale where people can find various kinds of live animals especially birds including tropical birds. The largest market and the most interesting location in Denpasar which should not be missed of course is Pasar Badung. It is the right place for finding the local fruits and vegetables as well as traditional Balinese snack foods. This place is also selling the Balinese ceremonial equipment including baskets and umbrellas.
