The trekking begins at night as catching sunrise becomes the main attraction in Mount Agung. So, tourist must start trekking around 11 pm to arrive before 6 am at the peak.

If you take the route that starts from Pasar Agung Temple, it will only take 3 to 4 hours to arrive at the peak, but this route only ends at 100 meters below the highest peak. The trekking usually starts at 2 am in order to catch the sunrise from above. Indeed the sunrise view from the peak is spectacular. You can enjoy morning view to the island. You can also see the neighbouring islands, such as Lombok and Nusa Penida.
